FRESH from claiming their Dunlop Super2 title in Newcastle last weekend, South Australian driver Todd Hazelwood and Queensland-based team Matt Stone Racing will step up to the Supercars Championship in 2018.
MSR has secured the racing entitlements contract previously used by Jason Bright, and will run an ex-Shell V-Power Racing FGX Falcon for Hazelwood in next year's series, with their top tier debut taking place at the Adelaide 500 in March.
Hazelwood is no stranger to first-class Supercars racing, having worked as a co-driver for Brad Jones Racing in the PIRTEK Enduro Cup this year.

THE starting grid for the 2018 Adelaide 500 - and the Supercars Championship Series itself - is firming much quicker than usual.
The confirmation of Matt Stone Racing taking ownership of the ex-Britek Motorsport racing entitlements contract and the shuffle of an ex-Lucas Dumbrell Motorsport licence to Prodrive leaves three seats yet to be confirmed.
There will be no change in line-ups at Triple Eight, the newly named Walkinshaw Andretti United, Garry Rogers Motorsport, DJR Team Penske, Brad Jones Racing or Team18.

BOTH Jason Bright and Todd Kelly won’t be pulling out of the Adelaide pitlane in March 2018.
Mainstays of the Supercars circuit for almost two decades, Bright and Kelly this week announced their retirements following the 2017 series decider in Newcastle.

Kids will be admitted free to the Adelaide 500 as part of a brand new ticket offering for the 2018 Supercars Championship Series opener.
And ticket prices across the board have been frozen at 2017 levels or reduced in some categories.
