Winton: Coulthard cruises to Race 14 win

Fabian Coulthard has rejoined the Supercars series winners’ list with a smooth and consistent performance at Winton Raceway on Sunday afternoon.
It’s his first win for the 2018 Virgin Australia Supercars Championship and comes after a largely productive weekend for the #12 Shell V-Power Ford at the country circuit this weekend.
The Kiwi led an all-New Zealand podium, with Red Bull Holden Racing Team driver Shane Van Gisbergen and teammate Scott McLaughlin taking the lower step.

Winton: Shell V-Power front row

Shell V-Power Racing has stitched up the front row of the grid for Saturday’s Race 13 at the Winton Supersprint, with Scott McLaughlin claiming pole ahead of teammate Fabian Coulthard.
The top five was unchanged from the morning’s practice session, with the Nissans of Michael Caruso and Rick Kelly qualifying on the second row, and the Mobil 1 Boost Mobile Holden of Scott Pye and Freightliner Racing’s Tim Slade in sixth.

Winton: Kelly snaps drought in Race 13

Rick Kelly has won his first race in almost seven years – and first in a Nissan – at Winton on Saturday afternoon.
Pouncing on a poor safety car restart from polesitter Scott McLaughlin, Kelly claimed the lead and held on despite pressure from Mobil 1 Boost Mobile’s Scott Pye on greener tyres.
Remarkably, Kelly – the 2006 series champion – snapped a 210-race drought with his win in Race 13 of the 2018 Virgin Australia Supercars Series, and spoke of the emotion of securing his first win in an Altima after the race.

NISSAN MOTORSPORT’S Michael Caruso and Rick Kelly have led the timesheets in a dry second practice session at Winton Raceway this afternoon.
It came on the back of a wet morning session that saw Kiwi Fabian Coulthard set the pace in his Shell V-Power Falcon.
