It was at the Sandown 500 back in 2003 that Triple Eight Race Engineering joined the Supercars field, and some 15 years later it continued its authoritative stamp on the series with a podium lockout at the endurance series opener.
Jamie Whincup and Paul Dumbrell dominated the race from the front row to the chequrered flag to send an ominous signal to rivals ahead of October’s Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000.

It’s Retro Round in Supercars this weekend, so we decided to trawl through the archives to see which liveries we’d like to see the teams roll out next year.
Mobil 1 Boost Mobile Racing
Look, we’re biased, but the Walkinshaw-run VT Commodore from 1999 is hard to pass. Run by Lowndesy and Skaifey, this machine has all those iconic features of late-00s liveries.
There’s enough Mobil 1 branding to tick a box from a sponsorship perspective by today’s standards, not to mention that retro-feel navy, red and white feel.
