Australia's largest ticketed domestic motorsport event has a new name, and a new major backer, with internet service provider Superloop today announced as the new naming rights sponsor for the Adelaide 500 in 2019 and beyond.
The announcement was made by Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment David Ridgway at the event's official launch in Adelaide today.
“We are extremely pleased to welcome Superloop as naming rights partner, for the Supercars' spectacular season opener,” said Minister Ridgway.
“The Adelaide 500 is a much-loved event on the South Australian events calendar, injecting millions of dollars into the state.
“This multi-year deal provides an opportunity to grow the event further - we look forward to working with Superloop to deliver a sensational festival of motorsport and entertainment."
Tickets will go on-sale to the 2019 Superloop Adelaide 500 at 12.00pm ACDT on Thursday 25 October, with more fantastic opportunities to see Australia's best-loved motorsport categories.
Much-anticipated concert announcements will also be made in the lead-up to the first day of racing on February 28.
As new naming rights partner, Superloop continues its new foray in Australia, with an already-established local workefore in Adelaide and a move towards offering home broadband products in addition to its existing business services.
Chief Executive of Superloop Drew Kelton said a partnership with the Adelaide 500 was a logical step.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with the Adelaide 500 as we continue our journey in Australia,” Mr Kelton said.
“Superloop has a solid base in Adelaide and we anticipate the Adelaide workforce will significantly increase as Superloop Home Broadband ramps up. We look forward to sharing our product with fans at the Superloop Adelaide 500."
The Superloop Adelaide 500 runs from 28 February - 3 March 2019.
