A Jones will be back racing in car #21 in 2019 with Macauley Jones confirmed as the replacement for Tim Blanchard in the Team CoolDrive Commodore.
Jones, son on team owner and former racer Brad, will make his full-time Virgin Australia Supercars Series debut at the Superloop Adelaide 500.
Macauley has been racing in the Super2 series since 2014 and in 2015 stepped in as a co-driver in the Endurance Cup with Dale Wood.
He's been one to watch ever since, and has driven in the enduro's in following years, with Tim Blanchard in 2016, and in the #8 Supercar with Nick Percat in 2017 and 2018.
“I’m looking forward to working more closely with the CoolDrive team and representing their brand in 2019," Macauley Jones said.
"It’s a great team, and still remains a family business, which is what BJR is all about too.”
Blanchard is excited to see Macauley stepping into the Team CoolDrive Supercar.
"Not many people get to see the work Macauley does behind the scenes, if he’s not working on his own Super2 car he’s usually spending time working on his health and fitness. He’s got an incredible work ethic and is committed to doing the absolute best job he can,” he said.
Macauley Jones will make his full-time Supercars debut at the Superloop Adelaide 500 from 28 February – 3 March 2019.
