With new on-track precincts, twilight racing and more, there are a few fresh additions coming to the Superloop Adelaide 500.
As the opening round of the Virgin Australia Supers Championship, we've got some exciting things planned for this year!
Check out what's new at the 2019 Superloop Adelaide 500.
1. Tracks of the World
This year we’re welcoming the world to the Superloop Adelaide 500 with special displays showcasing five of the World’s favourite circuits – Monaco, Le Mans, Indianapolis, Nürburgring and, of course, Adelaide!
In Monaco, you can see Ferraris from the 1960s right through to the present day, as well as some of the rarest Ducati motorcycles.
Nürburgring will bring you a German Beer Hall to enjoy with friends as well as a Ferrari 458 race car.
Adelaide, of course, will bring old Supercars and Formula One racers from our proud history as an international street circuit, while Le Mans will have a Ford GT 40 replica that won the 24 Hours of Le Mans from 1967-69 and the Jaguar D Type (winning from 1955-57). Plus, take a ride on a Ferris Wheel overlooking Pit Straight!
Indianapolis finishes with the glory of GM, with Camaros, Corvettes, Pontiacs and Cadillacs.
2. The Pride of South Australia’s motoring fanatics
Thanks to proud motoring enthusiasts from across South Australia, you can check out over 80 classic cars on the CBC Middle Oval between Wakefield Street and Bartels Road at Meguires Cool Cars and Classics.
There will be start up times for selected vehicles, so you can see and hear these classics up close!
3. Twilight Racing
This year Supercars will hold a practice session on Thursday for the first time ever!
Taking place at 5.30pm, it’s a great chance to see Australia’s premier category – and the debut of the Ford Mustang – on track as the sun begins to dip, especially if you can only make it to the track after work!
You can also see Supercars Qualifying from 6:25pm on Friday, and a twilight finish on Saturday at 4.50pm, with the first 250km Supercars race finishing at 6:25pm.
Due to the exciting twilight racing addition, Gates 1, 7 and 11 will open at 9:15am on each day of the event, with all remaining gates opening at 9:30am each day.
4. Concerts in the Park
Our Concert precinct is on the move!
The concert precinct, previously located at the Christian Brothers College Oval, will now be situated in front of the Victoria Park Heritage Grandstand, creating a central hub with access to a myriad of family-friendly activities and a premium food and beverage offering.
The precinct will feature plenty of space to kick back and soak up the atmosphere, as well as our incredible three-night concert line up.
5. The Garden 500
There’s a new area coming on track, exclusive to Podium Club Members and 500 Club Members. The Garden 500 is a beer garden featuring a bar and space to relax, for those looking for some respite from all of the on-track action!
500 Club Members can also access the Adrenalin Gold Bar, which is also open to Podium Club Members and all Grandstand ticket holders.
6. Our New Name
Our new naming rights partner – just the second in our 21-year history – is Superloop, a new player in the Australian internet service provider market.
With a local workforce in South Australia, Superloop is a unique, innovative and high-end ISP, which has built its own network infrastructure to deliver its customers more reliable, consistent and fast internet speeds, especially on the new NBN.
The Superloop Adelaide 500 is the first event of the Supercars Championship and takes place from 28 February - 3 March 2019 at the Adelaide Street Circuit. Tickets are available here.
