Each year the Superloop Adelaide 500 has seen local South Australian acts open each night of the After Race Concert Series, with Music SA's Bands on Track competition.
Previous years have seen SA acts like The Beards, Bad//Dreems, Koolta, Vents, Lazy Eye, Ollie English and Neon Tetra as winners.
The competition in 2019 was more fierce than ever, with a record 280 acts submitting entries! This was then judged by a panel of music industry representatives, to decide the winners who will share the stage with Vance Joy plus Amy Shark on Friday, Jet and The Living End on Saturday and the Red Hot Chili Peppers on Sunday.
The results are in and the Bands on Track winners have been announced!
On Friday March 1, supporting Vance Joy plus Amy Shark will be Tales and Delia Obst.
On Saturday March 2, supporting Jet and The Living End will be Ricky Albeck & The Belair Line Band and Burnside Mums.
On Sunday March 3, to conclude the 2019 After Race Series and kick off a huge night of music, The Montreals and Zen Panda will support the Red Hot Chili Peppers and George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic.
Music SA's Chief Executive Lisa Bishop is delighted that the Bands on Track competition has returned from another year to support South Australian musicians.
"Bands on Track has been a special long standing partnership with motor sport,” she said.
“As an UNESCO City of Music, it showcases the incredible musical talent produced in SA. This is a rare career defining opportunity for local artists to perform on a large stage, to a highly receptive crowd, with an outstanding level of technical production and the support of national and international headliners.”
Be sure to head to the Concert Precinct each night to support these incredible local acts, you might discover your new favourite band! Check out the After Race Concert Series schedule here to see the set times.
