Two-time Superloop Adelaide 500 winner Marcos Ambrose and Ford legend Dick Johnson will jump behind the wheel of two Ford Performance Mustangs at this year's event in a unique 'speed test' between a Supercar, NASCAR and road-going Pony.
While Johnson takes to the brand new Mustang Supercar on track on Friday 28 February, Ambrose - also at two-time Supercars champion - will show off the Ford Performance Mustang NASCAR Cup Car.
And reigning Supercars champion Scott McLaughlin will pilot a specially-prepared Ford Mustang GT road-car running official Ford Performance parts.
The showcase will pit the three cars against one another in an on-track showcase on the Thursday, Friday and Saturday of the event.
It will mark Johnson's first drive in a fully-fledged Supercar in over a decade, and herald Ambrose's return to a Supercars circuit since retiring from the sport in 2015.
“Having Johnson behind the wheel of the Mustang for what will be a significant moment is an absolute privilege for us,” said Kay Hart, Ford Australia and New Zealand President and CEO.
“It’s an honour and a tribute to Dick’s long-standing contribution to the sport. It’s fitting that in the Mustang’s first year, it’s one of Dick’s drivers that’s the reigning Supercars champion.”

Fittingly, he'll be the first person to turn a Mustang's wheel in anger at an official championship event when he takes to the track on Thursday at the Superloop Adelaide 500.
"It’s been a long time since I’ve been behind the wheel of a full-spec Supercar, and to get the chance to drive the new Mustang is something I’m very much looking forward to,” said Johnson.
“Scott and Fabian have been saying plenty of great things about the new car, so it’s going to be an honour and a privilege to once again hit the track in Adelaide, for the first time in nearly twenty years," Johnson said.
"Doing it alongside Marcos and Scott is just the icing on the cake.”

Ambrose has won Supercars Championships and was the first Australian to win a NASCAR race at the top level.
“DJ and I have been out of the game for a while, but I have a feeling the red mist will descend when we pull the helmets on,” said Ambrose.
“It’s a track that I remember very fondly, having won a few races there in the past. Doing it in a NASCAR is going to be completely different for me, but I’m really looking forward to it.
“The run-up Bartels Road and into Turn Eight is going to be pretty eye-opening, I reckon. We’ll go out there, have some fun and put on a great show for the crowd."
The Ford Performance 'Parade of Champions' will take place on Thursday 28 February, Friday 1 and Saturday 2 March at the Superloop Adelaide 500. Tickets are available here.
