Summer. It’s our favourite time of year in the City of Adelaide!
Those long, balmy days buzzing with festival fever are something you just can’t experience anywhere else. Plus, the Superloop Adelaide 500!
To help you make the most of it, we’ve built the ultimate list of places to eat, drink, stay and visit while you’re here.
Eat
For breakfast each day, you’re spoilt for choice. Crack Kitchen on Franklin Street is always a crowd-pleaser with ample choice of sweet and savoury options. Public Café has an incredible selection of pastries to try, and we hear the coffee is tasty, too! Meanwhile, Argo on the Square will keep you on your toes with a flavoursome menu so long, you may feel a little overwhelmed.
For lunch and dinner, we recommend a walk down Gouger or Grote Street, where you’ll be sure to find a menu you love. Gauchos can offer a mean steak, while Little NNQ has fresh Vietnamese flavours available. COAL Cellar + Grill (located inside the Hilton Adelaide) has a fantastic contemporary Australian menu available, including a $25 express lunch option on week days.
Or for something a little further down, take a walk towards Rundle Mall and Rundle Street where the options are limitless, and you can truly bask in that colourful, festival vibe. Check out everything there is to explore in the East End here.
Drink
Where will you go to keep the party going after the race? Adelaide’s small bar and laneway scene is thriving, and this is your chance to experience it firsthand. From Clever Little Tailor to Maybe Mae, Pink Moon Saloon and Proof, these are the perfect tiny getaways to grab a glass and relax after a full day of racing action.
But if a pub is more your style, head towards Adelaide’s East End for the likes of Nola, the Exeter Hotel, The Stag Public House and The Austral. They’re ideal for a hearty feed and a cold one on a hot day!

Stay
Whether you’re staying the week or simply spending the night, Adelaide has a number of hotels, motels and apartments for you to rest your head after an action packed day at the track!
Located on Victoria Square/Tarntanyangga, the Hilton Adelaide is in the heart of the CBD, making it ideal for those wanting to explore. It’s a short walk to Rundle Mall, incredibly close (literally around the corner) from the famous Adelaide Central Market and walking distance from many of our incredible bars and eateries.
If you’re interested in more apartment-based living, check out one of the Mantra Apartments or the Oaks. Perfect for the travelling family.

Visit
After you've had your fill of thrills and adrenalin at the Superloop Adelaide 500, why not explore the Adelaide Central Markets? From fresh, local produce through to readymade meals for lunch and dinner, there’ll be something that takes your fancy. It’s also a great place to bring the kids – they’ll have a blast with all the sights, sounds and smells. Did we mention there’s an Old Lolly Shop for a sugar fix?
If you want to see Adelaide from above, we recommend a climb of Adelaide Oval. The view is something spectacular! Or for those wanting a hands-on experience, head for TreeClimb – Adelaide’s first nature-based aerial adventure park featuring bridges, flying foxes and climbing obstacles.
The Adelaide Zoo is always fun – for the young and the young at heart – where you can learn about and see wildlife up close, plus the kids can feed the animals in the petting zoo.
Talk about action-packed days!
