Abbie Eaton, one of the world’s highest profile female racers will be taking to the grid at the 2019 Superloop Adelaide 500, making her debut with Matt Stone Racing (MSR).
The 27-year-old Test Driver, who has recently made appearances on hit show The Grand Tour, will compete in the Dunlop Super2 Series in MSR’s VF Commodore.
Eaton – who moved to Australia from England in late-2018 – will be driving with support from Blackwoods and MIS Motorsport Insurance.
“It has been an incredible process since arriving here in Australia back in November to finally say that we’re on the grid in Adelaide!” Eaton said.
“We’ve been working day and night since June last year to make this a reality and to get the deal done on Saturday morning was surreal, but it is a dream come true.”
The two-time British Champion said she’s very excited to be racing on the Superloop Adelaide 500 track from Thursday.
“I’ve watched many a race from the Adelaide 500 and of course the Formula 1 days over the years and it is one of the most talked about events internationally,” she said.
“While I’m excited and thrilled that this has come together, it’s now down to work. I’ll be giving it my all throughout the weekend and doing what we can to repay the faith shown in me and ensure we’ll be on the grid for the rest of the season!”
The Dunlop Super2 Series kicks off at the Superloop Adelaide 500 from 28 February. You can meet some of your favourite Super2 drivers in an autograph session on the Adelaide stage in the Tracks of the World Precinct, on Friday 1 March from 2:15pm – 2:45pm.
